Tax Season

Ahh, I just paid the bills for another month and completed my Massachusetts State Income Tax Forms. I'm feeling a bit turned around and incredulous. Doing the taxes can do that to you. So many twists, upheavals and curves. Thank God, I still know how to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Why do I have the sneaking suspicion that I miscalculated to the Commonwealth's advantage? C'est la vie! They'll catch it in an audit.

Taxes! The mere mention of the word can set people afire. It's probably always been this way for every civilization debating the merits of and fairness of such systems. As a beneficiary, and we all are, I am grateful. Really? Well not for the paperwork, the financial confrontation and the emotional turmoil it exerts. There's a point where humor is the only response. These forms and the debates are absurd.

Tax Season can unleash some powerful emotions. Be careful out there.
