SECURITY

What's next indeed did not have to wait! I got it in my head to buy enough cookies at Dunkin Donuts to bring to my class last night. No good deed goes unpunished. Two stops. No luck. At the last stop the car refused to start. The dashboard lit up in bright, red capital letters. SECURITY. This was a new problem for me and was most unwelcome.

I was literally two blocks away from the college after crossing the river. So I placed a few calls to cultivate and calculate a plan. My patience is being tested, I can feel it. Stay alert. The young man in the donut shop is alone and I joke that I'm protecting the front. He told me he had my back, too. Lawrence Gallows humor.

The gal from AAA was an airhead who wasn't listening to my precise location. She dispatched the driver to the wrong location meaning I waited more than an hour. $36 later my car was towed to my local mechanic a couple of towns away. Next year I'll upgrade from Basic. A ride from a friendly, helpful neighbor got me home. Why is it that I'm having a string of problems with starting cars? It's testing my endurance and resources. It's when cars beak down is the situation I feel most comfortable asking for help. Confident that I will receive it.

This morning when I opened my drapes a fire truck is circling the parking lot. I watch as it make a couple of loops. Is there a message here? Without transportation, keeping me grounded at home gives me more opportunity to sit, ponder, write and wait for solutions and or more issues to reveal themselves.

Perhaps you remember the security lapses around the President before the earthquake in Haiti? If you can't protect the President or there are flaws in any security system, then we all should be questioning, prepared and alert. For what I wonder. The word of the day is Security. Is it in responsible hands?

The Webster dictionary has 7 different meanings for Security. The following is just the main meaning.

Lots to digest. I feel safe. I take the necessary precautions. I learned long ago to do my part and turn over the true security to God. This is suppose to be a grand adventure, not one of fear. Each one of us will have the opportunity to confront our fears. Love Trumps Fear. Love Always Wins!
