Daffodil Season

I scratched the cornea of my eye a couple of days ago. I thought it simply an eyelash but the pain and redness got worse as the day turned into evening. Then I put out a call asking for a ride to the local ER. That's one of the dilemmas of being independent. It's learning to ask for help ... making the request. I'm confident the books will say it is fear of rejection or a sense of unworthiness. Whatever, I get stuck asking for help. Isn't that silly nonsense!

So I compile a "Honey Do List". That's the list where mood dictates which item to tackle or resolve. Some may be simple, like call maintenance but the request is so tiny as to be absurd. Other items, like produce a conversational English class, are more complex. Perhaps we could call it Tea Time. That means a lot of requests for help. To begin with, one can't offer a class without a meeting place. So where do we begin? Time is money. And there's the annual Spring cleaning that is usually cathartic but I'm not into it this year. Not yet anyways.

So what does this have to do with daffodils? I just adore their pretty faces with bonnets of yellow.  A bunch of daffodils surprisingly arrived last Saturday at my doorstep as the eternal reminder of friendship and hope. Now I can't have enough of them. Daffodils from the grocery store are just plain fun to give and receive. So go out today or this weekend and buy a bunch for yourself. Watch someone's face light up when you hand them over. Yes, we must take our pleasures in simple ways.
